According to initial reports, the couple was travelling from the DRDO Colony in CV Raman Nagar towards the airport when they were allegedly stopped and assaulted by a group of individuals. The attack was not only unexpected but also horrifyingly violent, with bystanders filming the incident instead of intervening.
Eyewitnesses claim the altercation began after a road-related argument but escalated beyond control, with the attackers showing no regard for the officers’ identity or uniforms. Both Wing Commander Bose and Squadron Leader Madhumita are serving officers in the Indian Air Force — a fact that makes the assault even more alarming.
The video has since gone viral, prompting widespread condemnation and demands for swift action. Many on social media expressed anger and disbelief, questioning how national heroes can be treated in such a degrading manner on Indian roads.
The Bengaluru police have taken cognizance of the matter, and an FIR has reportedly been registered. Investigations are underway, and arrests are expected soon.
This incident has not only shaken the defence community but also reignited the debate on public safety, civic responsibility, and the treatment of armed forces personnel in civilian life.
