The accused has been identified as Naveen Kumar. As per the complaint, he arrived at the spot in a car and began harassing the woman on the street. Police said he allegedly touched her inappropriately, pulled her clothes, and tried to tear them despite her screaming for help. The video also shows the man striking her on the head, causing panic among people passing by.

In her statement to the police, the woman said she first came in contact with the accused through Instagram on September 30, 2024. While they started as a casual interaction, it turned into harassment when he began forcing her to accept his love proposal.
She told investigators that even after she clearly rejected him, the accused continued to pressure her. In an attempt to protect herself, she quit her telecaller job and moved to a paying guest accommodation. However, the harassment reportedly did not stop. The accused allegedly followed her and kept showing up near her residence, leading up to the attack caught on camera.
