Advocate Mathews Nedumpara raised concerns during the hearing, stating it was done "behind the back of the citizens." This assertion led to a tense exchange between Nedumpara and CJI DY Chandrachud, during which the CJI remarked, "Don't shout at me."
Responding to Nedumpara's remarks, CJI DY Chandrachud urged the advocate to refrain from shouting, stating, "If you want to move an application, file an application. We are not hearing you." Despite the Chief Justice's clear indication that Nedumpara's argument was not being entertained, the advocate persisted in speaking.
As Nedumpara continued to voice his grievances, Justice Gavai intervened, issuing a warning to the advocate, "You want contempt notice?" This stern warning underscored the seriousness of the situation and the court's stance on maintaining decorum during proceedings.
