A disturbing Damoh viral video has shocked people across Madhya Pradesh. The clip shows a man being humiliated under caste pressure and forced to wash a Brahmin man’s feet and drink the same water. The video, reportedly from Sattaria village in Patera block of Damoh district, has gone viral and triggered anger online.

Damoh Viral Video: Here’s What Happened

As reported by NDTV, the victim has been identified as Parsottam Kushwaha from the Kushwaha community. In the viral clip, he is seen washing the feet of Annu Pandey, a Brahmin man, drinking that water, and apologising to the community. Reports say he was also fined Rs 5,100.

The incident started over a liquor ban in the village. Locals had agreed not to sell alcohol, but Pandey was allegedly caught selling it secretly. The village council punished him with a fine of Rs 2,100 and asked him to apologise publicly, which he accepted.

A few days later, another man (Parshuram Kushwaha) shared an AI-generated picture of Pandey on social media, showing him wearing a garland of shoes. The post quickly went viral and angered members of the Brahmin community. Even though Parshuram deleted the image within 15 minutes and apologised, tensions rose.

Members of the Brahmin community then held a local council meeting. During this, they allegedly forced Parshuram to perform what they called a “ritual apology.” In the Damoh viral video, Parshuram is seen kneeling, washing Pandey’s feet, and then drinking the same water while apologising.

Victim Defends The Brahmin, No Police Case Filed

After the video spread, both sides tried to play down the issue. The victim later released a video saying that Pandey is his family guru and that he washed his feet out of respect, not pressure. “Some people are trying to make this a social issue. I have already apologised for my mistake. Please don’t make it political,” he said. He also requested the police to remove the viral video.

Police officials confirmed that they haven’t received any written complaint yet, but are checking the authenticity of the Damoh viral video. The timing of this incident is worrying as it comes soon after the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report revealed that India recorded 57,789 crimes against Scheduled Castes in 2023. Madhya Pradesh ranked third with 8,232 such cases.
