In a shocking incident that went viral on social media, some youths in Greater Noida have become the focus of public anger after a video surfaced late Monday night. In the video, some youths were seen performing stunts in cars and brandishing sticks on the road, causing a traffic snarl and blocking roads in the GL Bajaj College area. The video, uploaded by journalist Sachin Gupta, shows the boys driving at least three cars, one of which also has a government flag on it, as if they had some political interest or right to do so.

Public Outrage and Immediate Police Response

There has been heavy criticism against the video by citizens, with the majority terming the boys as Jaahil log (uncivilized people) owing to their gross insensitivity towards security and the police force. In the video, the men can be observed waving sticks out of moving cars, jamming lanes, and forcing people on the road and cars on the side to crash. Several bystanders could be observed just barely avoiding injury.

Greater Noida Police did not waste time when this video became viral. Researchers have found the spot, and they are tracing the perpetrators through CCTV records and car licence plates. A criminal investigation is underway, and authorities said the protesters would be prosecuted vigorously under road safety laws, as they posed a threat to lives and were an illegal gathering of people.

Political Angle Raises Questions

The fact that one of the cars carries a so-called Sarkar flag has introduced a political side to the case, which compromises the misuse of power and symbols of authority. Although it is still unknown whether the boys have some real political connections, the suggestion has come under criticism concerning the lack of responsibility on the side of people who apply political symbolism to personal arrogance.

Safety Concerns Around Educational Institutions

This incident has also brought to the fore again the issue of road safety, especially when the youths flock to the area around the colleges and other government institutions, as this aspect causes unreasonable driving and other forms of lawlessness. Residents and college authorities have insisted that police presence in the area should be increased, particularly when the college is in session.

As it is probable to get such an FIR shortly, this case is another indicator of how hooliganism and seeking attention on social networks may easily turn into a safety issue for the whole population.
