Meerut Viral Video: Shameful! Man Prepares Roti in a Marriage After Spitting, Police Acts Tough, Check

In a disturbing incident from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, a man was arrested after a video surfaced showing him spitting on rotis while preparing them during a wedding ceremony. The video, which quickly went viral on social media, has sparked widespread outrage and prompted immediate police intervention.

Police Take Swift Action Following Outrage Over Contaminated Food Preparation

The incident occurred on February 21, 2025, at the Prem Green Mandap in the Brahmpuri area of Meerut. In the footage, the accused, identified as Sahil, is seen preparing tandoori rotis and spitting on them before placing them in the tandoor. Attendees at the wedding noticed his reprehensible act, recorded it, and subsequently reported it to the authorities.

Following the video's circulation, several Hindu organizations staged protests, demanding strict action against the perpetrator. Responding promptly, the Meerut Police launched an investigation and arrested Sahil. Superintendent of Police (City) Ayush Vikram Singh stated, "We have taken cognizance of this matter and a person has been arrested. Action will be taken in this regard." 

The police have registered a case against Sahil under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including charges related to public health endangerment and intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace. Authorities are also investigating whether this act was an isolated incident or part of a larger, deliberate malpractice.

This incident has raised significant concerns about food safety and hygiene, especially during large gatherings. The public is urged to remain vigilant and report any such malpractices to ensure the well-being of all attendees.

The Meerut Police have assured the community of a thorough investigation and strict action against those found guilty of compromising public health standards.
