Raipur Viral Video: Asked Not to Smoke, Man Sets Petrol Pump Nozzle on Fire, Major Accident Averted By Careful Employee

A shocking Raipur viral video captures a man igniting a petrol pump nozzle after being told not to smoke. The incident at Urla’s fuel station could have caused a massive explosion, but alert employees acted swiftly and prevented a major disaster.

A disturbing incident from Chhattisgarh’s capital has triggered outrage online. A Raipur viral video shows a man deliberately setting a petrol pump nozzle on fire after being warned not to smoke. The reckless act could have led to a massive explosion. Alert staff, however, prevented a tragedy.

Incident Took Place at Urla Petrol Pump

The incident occurred on February 18–19, 2026, at a fuel station in the Urla area of Raipur. Two men, identified as Dharmendra Kshatri and Imran, arrived on a motorcycle to refuel.

Despite repeated warnings from staff, Dharmendra lit a cigarette near the fuel dispenser. When confronted, he allegedly lost his temper and brought a lighter close to the nozzle while petrol was flowing into the bike’s tank. Flames erupted instantly and spread to the motorcycle and pump machine.

Careful Employee Averts Major Disaster

Panic gripped the station as fire flared up. A vigilant pump attendant acted within seconds. He quickly disconnected the nozzle, shut off the main fuel supply and used a fire extinguisher from the safety kit.

His swift action stopped the fire from spreading to nearby vehicles and underground storage tanks. Burning fuel reportedly splashed on the accused during the chaos. The prompt response prevented what could have been a devastating blast.

Police Arrest Accused After CCTV Evidence

The entire episode was captured on CCTV cameras installed at the pump. The duo attempted to flee but staff detained them. Police from Urla station arrested both men based on a complaint filed by the manager.

Authorities have registered a case for arson and endangering public safety. Investigation is ongoing.

The Raipur viral video serves as a stark reminder: smoking at petrol pumps is not just illegal, it is life-threatening.
