UP Viral Video: Doctors remove 29 steel spoons, 19 toothbrushes, and two pens, a total of 50 objects from a man’s stomach in Hapur. The 40-year-old man, Sachin, admitted to a de-addiction centre in the Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh, was suddenly experiencing stomach pain.
But his reports leave the doctors completely stunned—the man, suffering from a rare mental illness, used to consume these objects. The 5-hour-long intricate surgery led to the doctors having a table full of spoons and toothbrushes.
UP Viral Video: Unusual Case Reported at Hapur De-addiction Centre
Journalist Sachin Gupta shared the shocking viral video from Hapur on his X handle. The video shows the surgeon counting the objects one by one. As he was showing the 50 non-edible objects on the table, the video seemed dreadful to everyone watching it. There were 19 colourful toothbrushes, 29 steel spoons, and two sharp pens inside his stomach.
After a CT scan, Dr Shyam Kumar performed the surgery at a private hospital in Hapur on September 17. It took the surgeon around 5 hours to remove all 50 foreign objects from the patient’s stomach, which you see in the viral video.
Mental Illness Behind Junk Eating Habits
The doctor suggests that the patient of Hapur is suffering from a rare psychological condition. In this, patients impulsively consume inedible, harmful objects. Reflecting on his condition, the 40-year-old Sachin shared his own painful story.
He said, “My family took me to see a doctor at the facility, but left me there”. He further shared that at the de-addiction centre, he used to be mistreated and they “Often did not give me food. I felt helpless and angry and started swallowing things to hurt myself”.
This again shows the poor and inhuman treatment that people often go through in rehabilitation centres. Further investigations will be conducted regarding the man’s serious complaints.
