Viral Photo: Following India's loss to the Asian Tigers in the current ODI series, the most popular team in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), received harsh criticism on Twitter after they posted a throwback tweet of Dinesh Karthik's heroics in the 2018 Nidahas Trophy final against Bangladesh.
The IPL team in Bengaluru recalled how Karthik completed the task for Team India against Bangladesh at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo despite needing six runs off the final ball. RCB compared their tweet to India's loss on Wednesday (December 7), in which captain Rohit was unable to secure victory for his team using the same formula.

We win some, we lose some. And it’s OK as long as we move on and we move forward. ⏩#NidahasTrophy #PlayBold #TeamIndia #ThrowBack #TBT #ThrowbackThursday pic.twitter.com/PB9BfdDzIj
"Need a 6️ to win. Last ball. vs Bangladesh. We win some, we lose some. And it’s OK as long as we move on and we move forward," wrote RCB on Twitter.
RCB received harsh criticism
The three-time IPL runner-up received harsh criticism from fans for the tweet, which did not go over well. It is important to note that India was about to lose when Rohit played an incredible unbeaten innings of 51 in just 27 balls, which included three boundaries and five sixes. With his thumb heavily bandaged, the Indian captain entered the field at number 9 and promptly played a knock that captured the hearts of his countrymen and nearly saved his team from defeat.
Nidahas Trophy final was Karthik's best performance
Speaking of Karthik, the Nidahas Trophy final was likely his best performance while wearing an India jersey. In the final of the tri-nation series, which also included the hosts Sri Lanka in an exciting last-ball finish, Karthik's knock helped India defeat Bangladesh. Karthik helped the Rohit Sharma-led team win the game by scoring 29 runs in only 8 balls.
Totally uncalled for 🙂 https://t.co/JJ0yKH60ph

Karthik returned to RCB in 2022 for a second stint and, thanks to his reliable finishing abilities, helped them place third. Due to his outstanding run of form, Karthik was also given the opportunity to rejoin the Indian team.
