Recently, the idol of Ram Lalla was installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Mandir. Crafted from ‘shyamal’ stone, the delicate 150 kg, 51-inch idol depicts Lord Ram as a five-year-old boy standing on a lotus made of the same stone.
A creation of renowned Mysuru artist Arun Yogiraj, the idol's left hand assumes a bow-holding pose. The idol, brought to the temple on January 17th, features intricate details, and its Pram Pratishtha will occur during the auspicious ‘Abhijeet Muhurta’ from 12:20 pm to 1 pm.
Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid, a priest and Vedic scholar from Kashi, will oversee a group of 121 acharyas managing the ceremonies. Laxmikant M Dixit from Kashi, a principal acharya descended from the renowned Kashi scholar Gaga Bhatt of the 17th century, will play a significant role in the ceremonies.
