Viral Video: Bangalore’s heavy traffic has been a big problem, making it difficult for everyone to carry out their daily tasks. Dr. Govind Nandakumar, a gastroenterology surgeon at Manipal Hospital Sarjapur, faced a problem, which he surely cannot forget in this lifetime. So, on August 30, 2022, at 10 a.m., he was supposed to perform urgent laparoscopic gallbladder surgery on a middle-aged woman. However, he was snarled up in traffic on the Sarjapur–Marathalli section.

The patient was promptly released

Without second thought, the surgeon ran the 3 kilometres to the hospital to complete the necessary procedure, leaving his car with the driver. The procedure proceeded smoothly, and the patient was promptly released.

Dr. Govind Nandakumar told

“I travel daily from Bangalore’s downtown to Manipal Hospitals, Sarjapur, which is located in the southeast of the city. I left home in plenty of time for the procedure. As soon as I arrived at the hospital, my team was organised and ready to conduct the procedure. I made the quick decision to leave the car with the driver after noticing the heavy traffic and sprinted straight towards the hospital” said Dr. Govind Nandakumar.

At Manipal Hospitals in Sarjapur, Dr. Govind Nandkumar practises gastroenterology as a consultant.

He was prepared to conduct laparoscopic gallbladder surgery on a middle-aged woman who had a persistent gallbladder condition on Tuesday, August 30. Intense abdominal pain would have resulted from postponing the surgery. As soon as he entered the operating room, Dr. Govind’s team, which was prepared to put the patient under anaesthesia, started to work. The surgeon quickly changed into surgical gear and cleansed before beginning the procedure. The patient is doing well and was released at the appointed time.
