The accident happened soon after the plane took off from Goa's Mopa Airport on June 16, 2025. People on board could be heard yelling and hanging on tight as the plane hit a patch of rough air. Some people allegedly cried as the luggage compartments in the overhead doors shook. One woman on the video that went viral says, "I'm devastated and in shock," as she talks about how the plane "lost altitude suddenly."
IndiGo said in a statement that they were aware of the rough weather but that all normal steps were followed and the flight safely landed in Lucknow. The airline said the problem was caused by active monsoons, which are usual along India's western coast at this time of year.
"No one on board was hurt." The airline stated that the flight was run by experienced crew members who followed all safety rules.
The video went popular very quickly, getting responses from people all over the country. Some Internet users had similar experiences while they were in the air, while others said the company should have communicated better during the rough weather.
Some users remembered a similar event that happened in May, when another IndiGo Flight was hit by strong hail in the sky. This made people worry about their safety while traveling during the rainy season.
Experts Say Be Careful While flying during the monsoons, pilots say that turbulence is a normal but disturbing part of the job, especially when the seasons change. They tell people to stay cool and buckle up, because most turbulence is not actually dangerous.
The scary video is a scary reminder of how fast things can go from calm to crazy in the air. The public's anger shows that clear communication and mental support during in-flight emergencies are more important than ever. IndiGo handled the situation professionally.
