Viral Video: A restaurant in Hyderabad’s Malakpet area offered free haleem to the public on Tuesday, their opening day. This well-intended gesture, however, resulted in an unexpected turn of events.
Free Haleem Distribution Goes Viral
News of the free haleem quickly spread, leading to a large crowd gathering outside the restaurant, “Aazebo.” The situation escalated as hundreds of people flocked to the location, causing a near stampede and significant traffic congestion.
Lathi Charge Used to Disperse Crowd
Faced with the uncontrollable crowd, the restaurant management sought help from the authorities. As seen in a video shared by PTI, the police resorted to using lathis (batons) to disperse the gathered masses.
A Culinary Delicacy Turns Disorderly
This incident highlights the potential dangers of distributing free food without proper crowd management measures in place. Haleem, a popular slow-cooked meat stew, is a cherished dish during the holy month of Ramadan. While the restaurant’s intention to share a celebratory meal is commendable, the lack of planning for such a large turnout resulted in chaos.
