Viral Video: As fans await the highly anticipated release of Thor: Love and Thunder, Marvel Studios released a special video tracing the superhero’s 10-year journey. The video showcases Hemsworth’s evolution and melding with the character, as well as his dedication to the franchise.
Whether he is inspiring humor and loyalty in Thor: Ragnarok, or screaming for people to bring him Thanos as he holds a weapon that should have stopped the Mad Titan, Chris Hemsworth is Thor. No other actor could have done what he has done and fans can’t imagine anyone else in the role.
The viral video, titled “Legacy of Thor” opens with scenes from the first movie when he first receives his powers, along with the behind-the-scenes bits like Hemsworth’s audition tapes and on-set moments with co-stars like Natalie Portman and Taika Waititi.
“…I feel like the character has probably become more me over the years and I hope in a fun way,” Hemsworth said. Taika Waititi, writer-director, is often credited fro revitalising the franchise by intertwining humour and cheekiness with the character.
“He is someone who you can trust, who will be there to look after you, like a real-life hero. So, I just wanted to tap into those qualities and sort of making Thor more Chris,” the writer-director said.
One of the highlights of the viral video is the audience’s love for Chris Hemsworth himself, rife with crazy reactions and moments from meet-and-greets, press junkets, and premiers.
The newest movie in the franchise, Thor: Love and Thunder, is set after the events of Avengers: Endgame. With fan favourite Natalie Portman reprising her role as Jane Foster as well as Mighty Thor. ‘Dark Knight’ actor Christian Bale is also set to play the main antagonist Gorr the God Butcherer. The movie will be in theatres from July 7.
