Viral Video: A disturbing video that went viral depicting two Hindu priests being viciously attacked by a mob in Kandivali's Laljipada neighbourhood sent shockwaves through Mumbai. The priests were returning from a temple when the horrifying incident happened on Saturday night, August 17. A group of people carrying knives and sticks carried out the attack.

Mob Violence Caught on Camera

The horrifying moment when the mob attacked the priests on a public road in smaller groups is seen in the widely shared video by Free Press Journal. While the other priest, dressed in white, was hunted down and brutally attacked by the crowd, the orange-clad priest can be seen standing next to a fallen scooter.

Aggressive Gestures and Weapons in Hand

The video also shows a woman aggressively gesturing at the priest wearing an orange dhoti, while a man wielding a knife and others armed with sticks surround the priests. The reason behind this brutal attack remains unclear, as the video continues to circulate widely.

Police Investigation Underway

As soon as authorities learnt of the assault, they moved quickly to address the situation. According to FPJ, at least five people have been identified by the police as being involved in the attack, and they have two suspects in custody who will be questioned. Law enforcement is still investigating in an effort to determine what motivated this horrific conduct.
