At Devi Dosa, a well-known restaurant in Ahmedabad, a customer discovered a dead rat in their sambar. When the issue was originally brought to Alpesh Kevadiya's notice, the restaurant owner allegedly did not respond quickly enough. The complaint was elevated to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) as a result of this neglect.
In response to the event, the AMC Health Department moved quickly, sending Alpesh Kevadiya a letter pointing out serious breaches of health and hygiene regulations. The notification made clear that there was insufficient security in the restaurant's kitchen, which allowed animals to enter and jeopardise the safety of the food. As a result, the restaurant was deemed dangerous, and in order to save the public's health, the AMC took the extreme step of closing it.
