Viral Video: Soldier Reunites with Her Son Amidst Ukraine Invasion

Viral Video: Videos of soldiers returning home after months away from their loved ones, fighting in wars, are always extremely special and heart-warming. Considering the current war in Ukraine, there have been many such brave people fighting for the freedom of their country.

Anton Gerashchenko, adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine shared a video on Tuesday of a soldier returning home amid the Russian invasion and receiving a warm welcome from her son.

The viral video starts with the woman stepping out of a car outside her home, as her son waits by the gate. The little boy is seemingly in shock, cupping his face in his hands, ecstatic to be reunited with his mother. The soldier takes her speechless child in her arms as their dog is equally excited, seen jumping around them.

The video has managed to melt hearts all over the world.

Sharing the video, Mr. Gerashchenko said, “This is what we’re fighting for.”

Another person noted, “I think how my 6-year-old gets anxious when my wife isn’t around and it just breaks my heart that these children in Ukraine have to deal with this.”

“Aww. I hope the doggie got their hugs too,” a comment read.

Sharing a similar experience, a person said, “That is heartwarming – but a hard lump in the throat also.  When my husband came home from deployment having missed 9 months of Little QuidamityQuokkas life she wouldn’t give him the cuddles she gave the local postman. She didn’t know him. Those sacrifices are mirrored here.”

The Russian invasion of Ukraine began in February this year and has left thousands of Ukrainians displaced even as the country continues to put up a valiant fight.
