A viral video of IAS officer Gayatri Rathore making a controversial remark to an unemployed youth has ignited a wave of criticism online. Rathore, the Principal Secretary of Rajasthan's Medical and Health Department, asked a young job seeker, “Did you take permission from the government before being born?” Social media users were quick to react, with many expressing their outrage at the high-ranking official's response.

The incident gained attention after user Balkaur Singh Dhillon shared the video on X (formerly Twitter), where Rathore’s comment spread quickly. Dhillon captioned the clip: “Senior IAS Gayatri Rathore told the unemployed… Did you take permission from the government before being born?” The video has since sparked widespread outrage.
As more users viewed the video, they began sharing their views, with some criticising Rathore for her perceived lack of empathy. One user stated, “This isn’t the madam speaking; it’s her ego talking!” Another comment read, “Maybe the madam asked the government before being born, that’s why she became an IAS officer.”
Users expressed frustration over Rathore’s comment, calling it insensitive. “Will those whose life is set now speak like this about the unemployed?” one user questioned. Many felt her remark highlighted a deeper disconnect between officials and the challenges faced by job seekers in India.
