A Mumbai-to-Varanasi IndiGo flight turned tense on Friday night after passengers were left waiting on the runway for nearly two hours. The delay caused panic and frustration among travellers, especially after the recent Ahmedabad plane crash. A video of the incident has gone viral, showing passengers questioning the crew and raising safety concerns.

The flight, 6E 5028, was supposed to take off on time but was delayed due to a technical issue just before departure. As urgent checks were being carried out, other flights were given clearance to take off, which added to the frustration onboard. The delay and poor communication triggered heated exchanges between the passengers and the airline crew.

In one viral video, a cabin crew member can be seen folding her hands and saying, “All the tests on the aircraft have been completed.” But this did not calm the crowd. A passenger responded, “You are running the tests after making the passengers board the plane? What if something happens in the air?”

Later, the pilot, Captain Urvashi, addressed everyone directly. She said, “We are ready for take-off in 10 minutes… If there was any issue, I would not fly this plane. The aircraft is fit to fly.” The crowd began to calm down, and in a lighter moment, passengers chanted “Har Har Mahadev” with the pilot also joining in.

Flight Took Off After Long Wait Amid Viral Chaos

As per flight tracker Flightradar24, the IndiGo flight finally departed Mumbai at 9:53 pm and landed in Varanasi at 11:40 pm - nearly two hours late. Though there’s no official statement yet from the airline, the pilot’s reassurance and the crew’s calm response helped avoid a bigger crisis.
