Due to insufficient room to overtake, there was a confrontation. The culprit and his spouse, who was present when the crime occurred, were apprehended by Pune Police without delay.

Jerlyn D'Silva, the woman involved, shared her ordeal on Instagram. She explained that while she was traveling on the city's Pashan-Baner link road, an old man followed her for two kilometers, overspeeding and aggressively intercepting her. "He punched me twice and pulled my hair," she recounted, "He didn’t care about the kids. How safe is the city? Why are people behaving like maniacs? I want this man to be punished for what he did to me." She also added, "I had two kids with me, kuch bhi ho sakta tha (anything could have happened)."

Pune Police Take Swift Action

Following reports of the event, the Pune Police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the guy under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The guy and his spouse were taken into custody.

As the video spread online, netizens were quick to voice their opinions. One Instagram user commented, “Oh my God. I am so sorry this happened to you… this man should be arrested at the earliest. This incident is part of a worrying trend in Pune. Earlier this year, a minor boy crashed his Porsche at high speed into a bike, resulting in the tragic deaths of two software engineers, Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta.
