Viral Video: A daily office-going lady shares her pangs after missing a metro due to overcrowding.  She takes her phone to make a video, shaming the government for not solving the existing overcrowded metro issues instead of inaugurating new metro lines in Kolkata.

The woman with visible anger burst on, saying this has been a regular struggle for daily commuters on the old classic Blue Line metro route. As new routes of the metro area stretch towards Salt Lake, connecting the IT hub with Howrah and Sealdah, people anticipate a more crowded daily commute in the metro.

Woman Slams Government Over Metro Chaos

A viral video shared on the Ghar Ke Kalesh page on X highlights the dismal condition of the metro during peak office hours. The clip shows overcrowding so severe that the train doors could not close. Expressing her frustration, the woman says, “You have opened a new metro, but you won’t fix this one” and adds, “People like us can’t go to the office because of this.” She concludes her rant with a sarcastic remark: “See and have fun.”

Recently, on 22 August, PM Modi inaugurated three new metro routes in Kolkata, connecting the major railway stations, Howrah with Sealdah, stretching to Saltlake Sector V. But the old route still suffers from overcrowding, poor maintenance, and a lack of metro as per the growing need.

Public Reacts Sharply to Viral Video

People who go through this office time overcrowding issues daily are widely relating to her angst. They say, “Nali ke keedon ki tarah rahne ki aadat ho gayi hai, Toh agar better facilities ke liye koi aawaz uthaye toh achcha nahin lagta logon ko !!!”

People are also saying that even in the Delhi metro, the condition is shamefully pathetic. They say, “She is not wrong..Rajeev Chowk, New Delhi Metro Station, Chandani Chowk Metro Station. This is Normal”.

People are finding her claims to be just, but her tone of saying it sounds derogatory, though. One says, “She is right, you have to open more trains here before starting a new one somewhere else”. While another says, “I understand her concern, but why does she have to shove that ugly face this close to the camera to make a point?”.

This viral metro station video is grabbing netizens’ attention. Some are linking it to the Japan metro, noting Japan has to hire bouncers for clearing the Metro doors. While others are denoting that we Indians have been brainwashed so well for dealing with overcrowding, that we did not question it.
