12th BRICKS summit

Addressing the summit after Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Prime Minister said that terrorism is the biggest problem the world is facing today and there is a need to ensure that countries that shelter terrorists must also be blamed.

Russian resident Vladimir Putin chaired the 12th BRICS Summit via video conference with the theme “Global stability, shared security and innovative growth”. 

12th BRICS was focused on cooperation in counter-terrorism, trade, health, energy and ways to offset the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. 

Addressing the summit after Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Prime Minister said that terrorism is the biggest problem the world is facing today and there is a need to ensure that countries that shelter terrorists must also be blamed.

The Prime Minister also made a strong pitch for reforms of UN Security Council and global organisations like IMF and WTO.

BRICS group composed by the five countries – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. This was the second time Modi and Xi are on the same virtual platform since the India-China border standoff emerged in the open in May.
