Pakistani People Reaction on Waqf Bill: The Waqf Amendment Bill passage in Parliament has not only created ripples within India but is now echoing across the border too. The Pakistani people reaction on Waqf Bill is gaining traction on YouTube, with several users actively engaging in discussions. On April 4, 2025, the Indian Parliament passed the Waqf Amendment Bill after hours of intense debate. While many in India welcomed the bill, Pakistani people reaction on Waqf Bill has been nothing short of fiery, with several voices claiming the move is anti-Muslim and part of a broader pattern of alleged marginalisation of Indian Muslims.

After the Waqf Amendment Bill 2025 was passed, Pakistani YouTuber Shoaib Chaudhary uploaded a video on his channel ‘Real Entertainment TV’ titled: “Waqf Bill Passed in Lok Sabha: Amit Shah vs Owaisi Debate Heats Up, Pakistan Public Reacts to India’s Move.”

In the video, Shoaib explains how the Indian government is hailing the bill as historic while opposition parties are labelling it as unconstitutional and anti-Muslim. He then goes out to get Pakistani people reaction on Waqf Bill, asking citizens for their views.

One young man responded, “Kis mulk mein ek mazhab ki akhtiyat ho, toh baat toh unke favour mein hi jaati hai. Accha, toh Babri Masjid ki baat aa jaaye ya kisi aur cheez ki, toh faisla kuch bhi ho, woh Hindu ke haq mein chala jaata hai.”

Another Pakistani citizen said, “Udhar Muslims ki koi zindagi nahi hai. Aap dekhein — udhar namaz nahi padhne di. Eid ki namaz road pe bhi padne nahi di. Toh yeh kitni zyadti hai. Isse behtar Pakistan behtar nahi hai kya? Haan mehngaai hai, accha magar Alhamdulillah apni zindagi jee rahe hain.”

These Pakistani people reactions on Waqf Bill highlight growing concern across the border regarding religious freedom and legal changes in India.

What is Waqf Amendment Bill 2025 and Why is the Opposition Against It?

The concept of ‘Waqf’ is rooted in Islamic tradition and refers to property or assets donated for religious or community welfare, such as for mosques, schools, and hospitals.

The Waqf Amendment Bill, 2025 aims to improve transparency and accountability in the management of Waqf properties, protect historic assets and ensure they benefit the intended communities. The bill saw heavy debate in both Houses of Parliament before finally being passed.

In the Rajya Sabha, the bill was passed with 128 votes in favour and 95 against, following nearly 14 hours of deliberation. Earlier, the Lok Sabha passed it after a 12-hour debate, with 288 members supporting it and 232 opposing.

Despite this, opposition parties including the Congress have slammed the bill, calling it unconstitutional, divisive, and polarising. They have vowed to challenge the legislation in the Supreme Court.

What Muslims in India Are Saying on Waqf Amendment Bill?

While the Pakistani people reaction on Waqf Bill has been largely critical, some Indian Muslim leaders are welcoming the move. Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi, National President of All India Muslim Jamaat, has strongly supported the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025.

He praised the Modi government for passing the bill in both Houses, asserting that it will improve the socio-economic condition of Muslims and promote transparency. According to him, the bill is not against Muslims but targets those who have illegally occupied Waqf land.

“The bill is designed to protect the rights of the poor and underprivileged sections of the Muslim community,” he stated.

Joining the voices in favour, Uttarakhand Waqf Board Chairman Shadab Shams also made a fiery statement, saying, “Those opposing the Waqf Amendment Act are not true Muslims; they are political Muslims and actual encroachers of Waqf."

He further said, "From top to bottom, members of the Muslim Personal Law Board, various Muslim organizations, Jamiat, or even those pretending to be sympathizers or Asaduddin Owaisi — they are all Waqf encroachers.”
