SHEIN Gets Strong Warning From Government. Responds To Backlash
France’s Finance Minister Roland Lescure reacted very sharply. He addressed the issue and warned the company about serious consequences.
“I want to be very clear: If these behaviours are repeated, we will be entitled to … ban access to the French market for the Shein platform,” he told BFMTV.
“These horrible objects are illegal.”
His comments show how seriously the government is taking the matter. Officials are concerned about child safety and ethical standards.
SHEIN moved quickly after the backlash. The brand told CNN that it removed all related products. The company said it has put a “complete ban on all sex-doll products, removing every related listing and visual from the platform.” SHEIN also said its adult category is temporarily offline while they review the issue.
SHEIN’s executive chairman (Donald Tang) also shared a clear statement. He said on Monday, “The fight against child exploitation is non-negotiable for SHEIN. “
