Depression is increasing rapidly these days. Around 280 million people of all ages are affected by it. In this report by IHME, the depression rate is calculated by the percentage of the population affected per country. 

10. Lithuania

Lithuania is a country located in Europe. It has a population of 2.6 million and according to IHME the depression rate in the country is 5.42%.

9. Iran

Asian Country Iran is the 9th most depressed country in the world. According to IHME, the depression rate is 5.48%.

8. Morocco

Morocco is located in Africa and the country has a depression rate of 5.49%. The population of the country is 37.46 million. 

7. Bahrain

Bahrain's population is 1.47 million. And 5.52% of that population is affected by depression. This country is in Asia. 

6. Tunisia

African country Tunisia has a population of 12.36 million. 5.75% of the country is affected from depression. 

5. Palestine

The country Palestine is the fifth most depressed country in the world. It has 5.04 million people as its population and 5.75% of it is depressed.  

4. Portugal

European country Portugal is the fourth most depressed country in the world. It has a population of 10.38 million. According to IHME, the depression rate of the country is 5.88%. 

3. Spain

Spain is a European country. This country has a population of 47.62 million and the country's depression rate is 6.04%.

2. Greece

Greece has a population of 10.57 million. This beautiful country is the 2nd most depressed according to IHME. The depression rate is 6.52%.

1. Greenland

The country with the maximum depression rate according to IHME is Greenland. It is a North American autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark. The depression rate is 6.61% in the country of 56.66K population. 

Pakistan

Pakistan's population is 235.82 million. And the country is at the 149th position on the list. The depression rate here is 3.23%.
