The Holy month of Sawan is back, in this month people offer prayers to lord Shiva. There are always many questions that revolve around what one should eat and avoid in this month, here is what you should avoid.

One should avoid eating non-vegetarian food like meat and pork during the holy month of Sawan.

Egg is a poultry product and it is also considered non-vegetarian and that is why it should not be consumed during this month.

Along with Non-veg food, one should also avoid drinking Alcohol and chewing Tobacco during the month of Sawan.

It is said that spicy food impacts the mind negatively therefore eating species should also be avoided.

Eating Eggplant or Brinjal should also be avoided in this month. Eggplant is considered impure hence one should not consume it.

Onion and Garlic are also said to be avoided during the holy month of Sawan. It is considered that onion and garlic increase body heat and distract the mind from spirituality.
