It's the birthday of current SRH captain Pat Cummins, who is the skipper of the World Cup winning, Australian cricket team.

He made his debut in 2011 and played T20I and ODI matches for Australia against South Africa. He became the second youngest test cricketer to take 6 wickets in an innings.

He has suffered many injuries in his early career. He suffered a heel injury after his test debut, a stress fracture after the 2012 Champions League, and then a stress fracture in his back in 2013. He was once again injured in 2015 as his stress fracture resurfaced.

He made his test comeback in 2017 after 1946 days (5 years, 3 months). He then got selected for the 2017-18 Ashes series and took 23 wickets. Then in 2018-19, he took 14 wickets in a test series against India.

He was selected for the 2015 World Cup and he played in four matches. He was one of the two vice-captains of Australia in 2019 and played another World Cup that year.

On November 26th,2021 Pat was announced as the 47th captain of the Australian Test Team. He then led his team to win the Ashes against England by 4-0. He got the ODI captaincy in 2022.
