30 Days to Go!

The biggest sporting tournament in the world, the Olympic Games is back. Around 30 days are left for the athletes to regather and fight for the medals. Here is a list of Indian medal winners in the previous edition of the games.

1. Neeraj Chopra

The Golden Boy of India, Neeraj Chopra became the first Indian after 2008 to bring home a Gold Medal. The 23-year-old Neeraj won the Gold Medal in the Javelin Throw (Athletics).

2. Saikhom Mirabai Chanu

The weightlifting fairy of India, Saikhom Mirabai Chanu won the first medal for the country in Tokyo 2020. 26-year-old Mirabai won the silver medal in the 49 kg category of weightlifting.

3. Ravi Dahiya

A wrestler who always kept his face straight till he made his country smile. Ravi Dahiya won a silver medal in Wrestling for the 57 kg category.

4. PV Sindhu 

Olympics Queen for India 'Silver Sindhu' aka PV Sindhu made India proud in Tokyo 2020. She won the Bronze medal this time. She became the first Indian woman to win two medals after beating China's He Bing Jiao.

5. Bajrang Punia

Bajrang Punia's medal-winning story is amazing, he was suffering from a knee injury and his opponent Kazakhstan's Daulet Niyazbekov attacked his knees, still, the wrestler emerged as the winner of the bronze medal in the men's 65 kg category.

6. Lovlina Borgohain

Another athlete who emerged as a star performer was Lovlina Borgohain. Even though COVID-19 affected her preparations, she won a Bronze medal for the country in Boxing women's 69 kg category.

7. Men's Hockey

Men's Hockey team's splendid performance led the nation to win a glorious Bronze medal in the game after 40 years. This team was led by Manpreet Singh.
