A 74-year-old Indian-American man shot and killed his daughter-in-law in a Walmart South San Jose parking lot. The accused was angry with his daughter-in-law because she had divorced her son. The accused has been arrested in California. There are media reports that he was looking for his daughter-in-law to kill for a long time. For this he traveled up to 150 miles.
According to a report in East Bay Times, accused Sital Singh Dosanjh killed his daughter-in-law Gurpreet Kaur Dosanjh in the South San Jose parking lot of Walmart last week.
A police investigation led to Sital’s arrest, which revealed that the victim had been telling her uncle over the phone on Friday about her fears that Sital was looking for her to kill.
The report said that he also reportedly told her uncle that she had seen Sital driving the car, indicating that he had traveled 150 miles to find her. Gurpreet’s uncle told the police that his niece was scared that Sital was looking for her.
About five hours later, a Walmart colleague found Gurpreet dead in the car, Gurpreet’s uncle said, referring to that last thing. Gurpreet had two bullet wounds in her body. The report said that she was declared brought dead at the scene.
According to police, Gurpreet’s uncle told investigators that his niece was in the process of divorcing her husband. Her husband and accused Sital lived in Fresno. Whereas, Gurpreet lived in San Jose. The next morning, Sital is arrested from his home in Fresno. Police have seized .22 caliber Beretta pistol from the possession of the accused.
