US Iran War: The United States Military has shot down an Iranian Shahed-139 through an F-35C stealth fighter jet. The drone was approaching the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier that has been deployed in the Arabian Sea.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has remarked that the drone has successfully accomplished its task before being shot down.

The downing of the Shahed-139 drone was the second incident in the tumultuous waters of the Middle East. Earlier, a US-flagged tanker was threatened by two Iranian boats and a drone. CENTCOM spokesman Captain Tim Hawkins remarked the drone and boats approached the US-flagged ship M/V Stena Imperative threatening to seize the tanker. Hawkins added the USS McFaul, a US destroyer, responded with full support from the United States Air Force and then escorted the tanker.

News Agency Fars commented that the US vessel had breached the territorial waters of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Strait of Hormuz. Fars added the Iranian gunboats then asked the vessel occupants to present the required approvals that it did not had and therefore it was warned.

USS Abraham Lincoln, the Nimitz-class supercarrier, has been deployed by the United States to the Middle East after it conducted operations in the Indo-Pacific region. On January 26, the carrier and its strike group were redirected to the US Central Command (CENTCOM) area before arriving in the Middle East.
The Carrier Air Wing Nine (CVW-9) that is deployed on the USS Abraham Lincoln includes 8 squadrons flying EA-18G Growlers, E-2D Hawkeyes, -35C Lightning II, F/A-18E/F Super Hornets, CMV-22B Ospreys, MH-60R/S Sea Hawks and E-2D Hawkeyes.
