In November 2017, the deal was signed between Adani Power and the state run Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) in November 2017 and it entailed construction of a $1.7 billion power manufacturing in Jharkhand’s Godda district for supplying power to the Bangladesh.

Concerns from Bangladesh

Ever since Gautam Adani got embroiled in Hindenburg Row, Dhaka has been worried that the Indian Government might treat it as a private deal and will not push embattled billionaire to expedite the project.

According to local Media reports BPDB has sought revision to the power purchase agreement, this has been because Bangladesh has not been able to procure a provision of discounts for itself and the country will have to pay inflated price.
