Bangladesh News-Why Security Threats Have Increased?
Security threats have emerged ever since the killing of Sharif Osman Hadi, an Islamist youth leader, in December 2025. Initially, rumours surfaced that the killers of Hadi had fled to India but one of the accused released a video later and claimed that he was in a Gulf country.
In December 2025 alone, there have been 51 reported cases of communal violence, including 10 murders, as per the Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council.
It has been repeatedly claimed by India that the interim government of Bangladesh failed to protect the minorities. India claimed that Dhaka is turning a blind eye to the radical groups’ activities and atrocities.
