It is seen in this video how a multi-storey building has collapsed in the midst of strong earthquake tremors.

16 structures had collapsed in Sanliurfa

According to Reuters, this video is being told from Sanliurfa province of Turkey. Officials said 16 structures had collapsed in Sanliurfa and 34 in Osmania. However, it is not yet known whether there was anyone inside the building when it collapsed. At present, relief and rescue work is going on in the area.

At least 245 people were killed in government-controlled parts of Syria as well as northern areas held by pro-Turkish groups, according to the health ministry and a local hospital, with the number likely to rise. While giving information, Turkey's Vice President Fuat Okte said that at least 284 people died in Turkey due to the 7.8 magnitude earthquake in the southeast of the country on Monday, he said that this figure could increase further. Oktay said that more than 2,300 people were injured in one of Turkey's biggest earthquakes, with search and rescue operations underway in several major cities.

The rescue was hampered by the winter blizzard as major roads were covered with snow.The earthquake occurred at 04:17 am local time (0117 GMT) at a depth of approximately 17.9 kilometers (11 mi). Giving information about this, the US Geological Service said that on Monday, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake occurred near Gaziantep in southern Turkey. Its center has been Nurda, 26 km east of Turkey. This area is near Gaziantep. The population of this area is about 20 lakhs, of which 5 lakhs are Syrian refugees. It is feared that the earthquake may cause loss of life and property on a large scale.
