On Sunday, Armed rebels attacked a convoy of Chinese engineers in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. The port city of Gwadar, where all routes are still barred to traffic, is reportedly filled with gunshots and explosions.

The attack on Chinese engineers in Gwadar has finally been confirmed by the government, according to the report. According to The Balochistan Post, which cited a media release, the attack on the convoy of Chinese engineers started around 9:30 am, and a fierce shootout has been going on for almost two hours.

The attack took place close to Gwadar’s Faqeer Colony.

The incident has not been assigned a perpetrator by any group. According to local media sources, authorities have placed the city on high alert and have reportedly restricted access and leave.
