Donald Trump: 15-Point Peace Plan For Tehran To Accept! Would Pakistan’s Mediation Help It Win Some Brownie Points With US President?

Donald Trump: Pakistan could strengthen its relationship with Washington if it helps even partially in bringing both sides to the table. If a deal happens, Islamabad could get some brownie points, possibly resulting in financial aid, trade or investment opportunities.

Donald Trump: United States President Donald Trump has offered clear indications that negotiations with the Islamic Republic of Iran would happen in Pakistan.

Donald Trump Shares Shehbaz Sharif Invitation

Trump shared a screenshot of the invitation sent by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

On X, Sharif had posted that Pakistan stands honoured and ready to be the host to conclusive and meaningful discussions between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran for a comprehensive and amicable resolution of the ongoing Middle East crisis.

Trump had sent a 15-point peace proposal to Tehran before a ceasefire could be reached. The details of the peace proposal have not been shared publicly as of yet but it is likely that the USA would be bent on Iran completely giving up its nuclear weapon ambitions. It also expects Iran to dismantle long-range missile programs, cut ties with groups like Hamas and Hezbollah and reopen Strait of Hormuz in exchange for sanctions relief and assistance with a civilian nuclear program.

Rounds Of Discussions

Donald Trump has announced that Jared Kushner (Donald Trump’s son-in-law), Steve Witkoff (United States Special Envoy to the Middle East), JD Vance (Vice-President), Marco Rubio (United States Secretary of State) and Trump himself would be negotiating with Iran. For Iran, Parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf is likely to be the primary negotiator.

In recent days, Pakistan’s foreign minister Ishaq Dar had a round of discussions with Abbas Araghchi, his Iranian counterpart, while Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian had a word with Shehbaz Sharif.Imran Ali Chaudhry, Pakistan’s former envoy to Oman, recently remarked that Field Marshal Asim Munir had discussions with Witkoff and Kushner.
