The former US president, Donald Trump, has once again caused tension when he mocked the use of BRICS, terming it a broken economic bloc yet accusing the group of seeking to undermine the privilege of US dollars. At an event held at the White House, Trump reconfirmed an extra 10 percent on imports by BRICS countries, including Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, and more countries to join the bloc, that do not reach an agreement on new trade terms until August 1.
Trump Repeats Mediation in India-Pak Conflict
In another bombshell, Donald Trump said he deserved credit for brokering a ceasefire between India and Pakistan when tensions were rising in May. But this has been denied by Indian officials, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi reinforcing that the US had nothing to do with any talks on ceasefire. Although India stated that it had shot down several Pakistani planes, Trump did not clear the air about the aircraft, either Indian or Pakistani.
Trump's Warning: Bans Likely on Pro-Terror Groups like TRF
In addition to BRICS and India-Pakistan, Trump also indicated that the US will pounce hard against terror groups such as The Resistance Front, which is the new group that the US is establishing fast to attack. This implies that the common ground between India and the US may be reached in future negotiations when it comes to counter-terror cooperation.
