Edward Snowden slams Elon Musk as Twitter takes down his wife's pic with naked baby: 'Does this look like porn to you?'

Former US intelligence contractor Edward Snowden lashed out at Twitter’s Elon Musk claiming that the micro-blogging platform has locked his wife’s account. In a tweet, he shared that his wife, Lindsay Mill’s account was blocked after she shared a picture of her bare body with her modesty covered posing with their naked baby. The Twitter blocked the account stating the picture goes against its policies related to nudity and promotes adult pornography.

Sharing the picture, Snowden lambasted the Twitter CEO and sought for an explanation. He wrote, ''Twitter just locked my wife @lsjourneys 's account for an ancient baby photo that even *spineless Instagram* had no problem with. Do parents need to worry? Are baby butts, happy bath photos, etc. banworthy now?''

In another tweet, he wrote, "Does this look like pornography to you, @ElonMusk? If you have a machine handing out bans for pictures that could be on a Hallmark Card, it's time to dial back the algorithm. Just my opinion."

How netizens reacted

Netizens in the comment section were divided. While one section believed Twitter does not value family emotions, another section believed the algorithm could relate naked baby to child porn.

“It's a beautiful picture there is nothing wrong with it.I suppose if it was naked a transman holding a child à lot of  people would cheer,” one Twitterati wrote. 

“I literally saw porn videos on Twitter last week.  How did the videos get through but this did not?” said another netizen. 

“Twitter allows porn. But it discourages wholesome family values. That's probably why it was taken down. If it was actually CP, they would have let it stay up. #sadtruth,” mentioned another person. 

"I can see how the algorithm could easily interpret this as coming from a child pornographer...I mean, it's a naked adult holding a naked baby with its butt showing. And if the algorithm errs on the side of caution I'm okay with that," wrote one person.

"It’s a cute pic but I do agree with twitter. Pls remember that twitter is fighting against Child-Porn. It’s priority #1 and this is a naked baby. Doesn’t matter if from the front, back etc. But I do understand ur Intensions behind this pic, wich is cute," wrote another person.
