Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey Argue on Twitter. Why? Read This

Twitter: Jack Dorsey, a co-founder of Twitter and its former CEO, debated Elon Musk on Monday about the social media platform’s new features and future plans.
Musk had earlier stated in a tweet that Twitter needed to become the most reliable source of global news.

“Twitter needs to become by far the most accurate source of information about the world. That’s our mission,” Musk tweeted.

Elon Musk’s Tweet:

“Accurate to who? (sic),”Dorsey retorted.
“As judged by the people of Twitter via Community Notes (formerly Birdwatch),” Musk stated.

“I still think…Birdwatch is a far better name. And ‘more informative’ a far better goal,” replied Dorsey.

The community-driven, collaborative Twitter tool known as Birdwatch helps individuals stay informed and adds useful context to posts.

Musk changed the name of Twitter to “Community Notes” once he acquired control of the platform.

Musk tweeted, “Birdwatch gives me the creeps.”

Dorsey retorted, “Community notes is the most dull Facebook name ever.

Musk’s remark hinted at internal conflict at Twitter.

“Not every name must contain the word “bird”! On Twitter, there are way too many bird groups fighting among themselves. Game Angry Birds” Musk penned.

A day after Twitter let go nearly 50% of its workforce as new owner Musk keeps up his aggressive overhaul of the social media network, Dorsey had apologised to the company’s staff on Saturday.

“Folks at Twitter past and present are strong and resilient. They will always find a way no matter how difficult the moment. I realize many are angry with me. I own the responsibility for why everyone is in this situation: I grew the company size too quickly. I apologize for that,” Dorsey posted a tweet.

“I am grateful for, and love, everyone who has ever worked on Twitter. I don’t expect that to be mutual in this moment…or ever…and I understand,” he further said.

On Friday, Twitter let go of close to 3,700 workers.
