Abhishek Banerjee on Bangladesh Atrocities
Addressing issues related to the unrest in Bangladesh, Trinamool Congress (TMC) general secretary Abhishek Banerjee commented, “Everyone knows the kind of atrocity, the kind of anarchy that has been going across Bangladesh, and the silence of the Central Government is adding to the speculation.
“We want to see the Central Government reply or rather give a befitting reply in the language that perhaps Bangladesh understands. Who is stopping them? From our party's perspective, we have made our stand absolutely clear from day one that it is a Union subject. External or foreign affairs fall under the purview of the Union Government.
“Whatever step the Union Government takes, TMC as a party will completely support the Union Government for the safety and security of every Indian. We want them to reply to the people who are torturing us and showing us their red-eye.”
