Police Find Cartridge Cases, Making the Mystery Deeper
One of the most worrying things about the incident is that there was a gun inside the gurdwara. Witnesses said they heard gunshots just before the violence got worse.
Despite a significant search operation currently underway by the Special Task Forces (SEKs) and aerial reconnaissance, no weapon has been found during these investigations. The idea that the weapon might have been removed before the arrival of the police is one hypothesis that investigators have been unable to eliminate, so this possibility will only complicate the investigation even further.
Increase in Violence Arising from the Use of Knives, Kirpans & Pepper Spray
There was a dramatic escalation in violence between the two factions; rumblings of a confrontation were becoming apparent, and reports indicate that at least some individuals were using weapons. Witnesses indicate that there was a considerable amount of weapons being used, both knives and the traditional kirpan. The way the gurdwara’s donation funds, known as the Golak, are handled seems to be a major point of contention. Reports say that the fight may have started because of disagreements over audits of finances or the freezing of funds.
Authorities are still tight-lipped about the Germany Gurdwara violence
German police have arrested at least one person, but they haven’t given out much information about the suspects or their reasons for doing what they did. The investigation is still going on, but the question that hasn’t been answered is how a weapon, real or not, got into a holy place and who was behind it.
