Solar Eclipse 2023: As the Sun, Moon, and Earth line up, a unique celestial phenomenon is happening in several places of the earth. A solar eclipse, which started at seven in the morning, is anticipated to endure for five hours.
What Causes a Hybrid Solar Eclipse?
The solar eclipse on Thursday is a hybrid event because, depending on where you are viewing it from, it will be a combination of both total and partial eclipses. When the moon is far enough away from Earth to seem smaller in the sky than the sun, a hybrid solar eclipse takes place. During a hybrid solar eclipse, the moon's size is just right to cover the entire solar disc, giving the dark silhouette of the moon a perfect annular or ring-like shape. It is an annular eclipse as a result of this. During the hybrid solar eclipse, the sun forms a ring shape -'ring of fire'- around the moon for a few seconds. This time, the 'ring of fire' will be visible in the Indian and Pacific oceans for a few seconds. These two sites will likewise see the eclipse go from annular to total before returning to annular.

The Hybrid Solar Eclipse will last more than five hours
A hybrid solar eclipse occurs just a few times every century, with the most recent one occurring in 2013. It will happen again in 2031. According to Space.com, the next century will see a Hybrid Solar Eclipse on March 23, 2164. The totality, when the Sun is completely obscured, will last less than a minute on April 20 but the Hybrid Solar Eclipse will linger for more than five hours.
