Pakistan police on Monday arrested former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s nephew and several of his supporters for their alleged involvement in attacks on security personnel outside a court here over the weekend.
The alleged attack on the security personnel took place when Khan had arrived here from Lahore to appear before a court in a corruption case.
Monday’s arrest took the total number of Khan’s supporters arrested in Islamabad to 198 since Saturday. Khan’s nephew Hassaan Niazi is also among those arrested.
According to local media reports, Imran’s nephew Hassaan has been arrested from G11 Judicial Complex. He is accused of being involved in the violence at the Islamabad High Court Complex on Saturday. The police claim that Hasan attacked police vehicles during the violence outside the court.

Local media outlet Down reported that the police on Sunday registered a case against Hasan Niazi and several PTI activists for the violence at the Islamabad Judicial Complex. PTI’s lawyer Naeem Haider Panjhota said that Hasan Niazi had got bail, but police forcibly picked him up and took him to Ramna police station.
