India and Pakistan are once again in the spotlight as both nations plan to conduct pakistan military exercises at the same time in the Northern Arabian Sea. The drills are taking place very close to each other, which has raised questions about whether this could increase tensions between the two neighboring countries. However, experts say that both sides are coordinating well to avoid any unwanted incidents.
Pakistan’s Naval Exercise Live Firing at Sea
Pakistan has announced its naval drills from November 2 to 5 in the Northern Arabian Sea, covering around 6,000 square kilometers. These exercises will include warships performing live firing both on the surface and underwater. According to the alert issued by the Hydrographer of Pakistan (NAVAREA IX 514/25), ships sailing nearby have been advised to stay away from the area for safety reasons.
India’s ‘Trishul’: A Massive Joint Military Exercise
Just before Pakistan’s announcement, India began its two-week-long tri-services exercise called ‘Trishul’. This large-scale operation involves the Army, Navy, and Air Force and is being conducted across Rajasthan, Gujarat, and the Arabian Sea. The exercise includes thousands of soldiers, fighter jets, warships, submarines, tanks, and other heavy weapons. It aims to test India’s military strength and coordination between different forces. This is also India’s first major military exercise since the four-day confrontation with Pakistan earlier this year under Operation Sindoor.
Overlap of Drills: Why It’s Happening
The overlap between the Indian and Pakistani exercises exists because both countries share adjoining maritime territories. Their sea boundaries are so close that exercises from one side often fall near the other’s area. Despite this, defense experts believe that both nations are in touch to ensure smooth coordination and avoid any accidental clashes or confusion. They say such exercises are routine and meant to show preparedness, not aggression.
Will It Increase Tensions Again?
Whenever India and Pakistan conduct military activities close to each other, it naturally creates curiosity and concern. But this time, analysts think the situation is under control. Both sides understand the risks and have likely taken steps to prevent any miscommunication. Still, both nations are using these drills to display their military strength and readiness, especially after recent tensions earlier in the year.
