India ready to export fever medicines to China

India has decided to send medicines to China. The chairman of India’s pharmaceutical export body said on Thursday (December 22) that India, one of the world’s largest drug manufacturers, has decided to help China battling Corona. India is ready to give fever medicines to China.

Indian pharmaceutical companies are getting orders

Due to the wave of corona in China, there has been a huge shortage of medicines. Overtime is being done in pharmaceutical companies to meet the demand. The Chinese government has announced to give free medicines for fever, body pain and headache. Meanwhile, India has also given permission to send medicines for fever to China. Sahil Munjal, chairperson of the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexil), told Reuters, “Companies that make ibuprofen and paracetamol drugs are getting orders from China.”

Government of India has given permission to send medicine

“Ibuprofen and paracetamol are currently in high demand in China, where people are facing a shortage of these drugs,” he said. At the same time, the Indian Foreign Ministry said that India is ready to help China. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, “We are monitoring the COVID situation in China. On the question of sending medicine to China, he said, “We have always helped other countries as the pharmacy of the world.”

Ordering medicines online from India

According to media reports, there has been a huge shortage of anti-viral drugs in the Chinese markets. Shortages of antiviral drugs such as ibuprofen and paracetamol have created panic. According to reports, short supply and hoarding of viral drugs led to a shortage of drugs in the Chinese markets. Chinese social media posts and newspaper reports suggest that Chinese people are now buying drugs that are not allowed to be sold in China. For this, the Chinese are resorting to online stores.

According to the report of ‘The Paper’, a newspaper coming out of Shanghai, many agents have become active in China, who are selling medicines for viral fever at double or triple the price. The paper wrote that an agent has sold more than 50,000 boxes of foreign generic antivirals. According to the report of the Guangzhou Daily newspaper, the cost of the viral drug Paxlovid at Guangzhou United Family Hospital is about 2,300 yuan. This medicine is also not being given to people like this. This medicine is being given only after being found corona infected. The cost of CT screening of patients in the hospital is 5 thousand yuan. 1,000 yuan is the doctor’s fee.
