India US Trade Deal: Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met the United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio a few months before the India US trade deal. Doval told Rubio that India does not have any problem waiting for the tenure of Donald Trump to end but would not bow down to unreasonable expectations and demands.
India signed the ‘Father of all deals’ after signing a whopping deal with the 27-member European Union bloc that was termed as the ‘Mother of all deals’.
The high-handedness of India and its silent treatment to Trump’s rhetoric along with a ‘mistress’s treatment to Pakistan’ has not gone well with the Pakistani media and public.

For months, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir have been trying all kinds of antics to woo the US President. These initiatives included the nomination of the US President by Pakistan for the Nobel Peace Prize 2025 and joining his Board of Peace. On the other hand, India held firm against all sorts of pressure tactics by the Trump administration during India US trade deal negotiations.

Adding to the optics, the US President posted a picture of the India Gate and an India Today magazine cover featuring himself alongside the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Trump later announced that US tariffs on ‘Make in India’ products would be reduced to 18 percent compared to 19 percent on Pakistani goods.

Umar Ali, a Pakistan-based X user, posted an AI-generated image that showed Field Marshal Munir in a distressed mode holding a box of rare minerals.
Many Pakistanis were left in complete disbelief when Trump dropped the deal truth bomb. That was soon followed by sarcasm and anger. Pakistani media and public soon started publicly courting the US President.
