Iran Protests: On Friday, several Indian nationals made a way back to India from Iran, arriving at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
The return of Indian nationals follows an urgent advisory by the Indian government where it asked its citizens to immediately leave the Islamic Republic of Iran amid escalating regional tensions.
The Delhi Airport was full of anxiety, tensions, relief, happiness and gratitude as Indian nationals started arriving from Iran.
The Indian government had asked pilgrims, students, tourists and businesspeople to immediately head back to India using any possible available options.
Iran Protests: Reactions of People who returned from Iran
Indian nationals who returned from Iran described the horrifying and worsening conditions on the streets, marked by complete communication blackouts, movement restrictions and nationwide protests.
Many residents from the state of Jammu & Kashmir said they were unable to contact their families and are thankful to the Indian government to bringing them all back.
On December 28, the unrest started in Iran at the Grand Bazaar of Tehran following the dramatic fall of the Iranian Rial in comparison to the United States dollar. It soon transformed into nationwide protests after which the brutal regime of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei killed more than 12,000 people on the streets and detained more than 4,000 people.
For many years, Iran has been struggling with surging inflation, rising unemployment, power outages and water shortages, further fuelling public anger.
Donald Trump-Ayatollah Khamenei Feud Continues
Donald Trump, the President of USA, has continued to warn the Iranian regime after halting a possible war-like situation. The US President has threatened “very strong action” that may include large-scale airstrikes if the Ayatollah Khamenei regime proceeds with executing protestors. In contrast, the Iranian regime has declared that the Islamic Republic is “ready for war” with US and Israel and strike military bases of US in the event of an attack.
