Iran Sanction: In a joint move, the United States and the United Kingdom have announced extensive sanctions against Iran’s military drone program following its recent attack on Israel. The attack, which occurred over the weekend, prompted swift action from both Western nations.

According to statements from the Treasury Departments of both countries, the sanctions target individuals and entities linked to Iran’s unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) production. Specifically, the sanctions aim to disrupt the production and distribution of engine types utilized in Iran’s Shahed variant UAVs, which were reportedly used in the April 13 attack.
The United Kingdom’s sanctions also extend to Iranian military organizations, individuals, and entities involved in Iran’s UAV and ballistic missile industries, the statement added.

The Iranian assault involved a significant number of drones and missiles, with most intercepted by Israel and its allies, including the US and the UK. Despite the large-scale attack, minimal damage was inflicted.
In response to the aggression, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu affirmed Israel’s right to self-defense, emphasizing the nation’s commitment to protecting its sovereignty and security.
The sanctions underscore the international community’s condemnation of Iran’s actions and its determination to counter threats posed by Iran’s military activities.
