Israel Palestine Conflict: Netanyahu Holds Ground! Says ‘Gaza War Will Continue, No Ceasefire’

Discover the resolute determination of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as he declares that the Gaza war will continue in spite of mounting international pressure for a ceasefire.

Israel Palestine Conflict: The Israeli military will keep fighting in Gaza, according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, despite growing international pressure for a ceasefire.

Unyielding Resolve

“We will persevere until the very end,” declared the prime minister. There is absolutely no doubt. I say this under tremendous pain, but also in response to pressure from around the world. Nothing will prevent us. Nothing less than victory, we’re going to the very end.” Netanyahu made his remarks the day after the UN General Assembly overwhelmingly approved a non-binding resolution on Tuesday calling for the immediate, unconditional release of all hostages and a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza.

Israeli Army Losses

Nine soldiers were slain in an ambush by Hamas, according to an announcement made by Israel, which describes the attack as one of the deadliest on the Israeli army since the ground operation in Gaza started. After US President Joe Biden’s “indiscriminate bombing remark” and a UN General Assembly resolution demanding a ceasefire, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the army’s assault in Gaza will go forward in spite of pressure from other countries.

Netanyahu’s Call to Action

“We need to complete this mission. The crushing victory over Hamas will provide many advantages, as well as considerable deterrent power and persuasive power – also regarding the rest of the world sitting up in the stands. They are all sitting there, wanting to see who will win. It’s that simple: In the end they want to see who will win, us or them,” Netanyahu said as he visited a military facility. As the Israel Defence Force advanced, there was fierce fighting going on in both north and south of Gaza between Israeli soldiers and Hamas. Ten IDF soldiers were reported killed in the last 24 hours, including a lieutenant-colonel in charge of a regiment and a full colonel in charge of a forward base. Since the October 31 deaths of fifteen soldiers, it was the worst single-day loss.

Netanyahu’s Call to Action

The US Joe Biden administration is holding up the sale of over 20,000 rifles made in the US to Israel due to worries about Israeli settlers attacking Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, according to two people familiar with the situation that were cited by news agency Reuters. According to the White House, US national security adviser Jake Sullivan is scheduled to visit Israel this week and hold “extremely serious conversations” with Israeli officials regarding the civilian casualties. On Wednesday, Sullivan met with Mohammed bin Salman, the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, in Saudi Arabia to talk about the Gaza conflict and other regional issues.

Concerns Over Settler Violence

In a televised speech, Hamas Chief Ismail Haniyeh declared that any arrangement in Gaza that does not include Hamas is a “delusion”. “We are open to discuss any ideas or initiatives that could end the (Israeli) aggression and open the door for putting the Palestinian house in order both in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip,” Haniyeh said. Following the war, Benjamin Netanyahu had declared that Israel would maintain an unrestricted security presence in Gaza.
