Israel Palestine Conflict: Trudeau’s Plea for Gaza’s Babies, Says ‘Killing Must Stop,’ Netanyahu Reacts

Israel Palestine Conflict

Israel Palestine Conflict: Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, responded angrily to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau‘s comments regarding the “killing of women, of children, and of babies” in Gaza, stating that Hamas, not Israel, should be held responsible.

Hamas Accused of Deliberate Civilian Targeting

Prime Minister Netanyahu posted on X, “It is not Israel that is deliberately targeting civilians but Hamas that beheaded, burned and massacred civilians in the worst horrors perpetrated on Jews since the Holocaust.” “While Israel is doing everything to keep civilians out of harm’s way, Hamas is doing everything to keep them in harm’s way,” Netanyahu added.

Netanyahu Accuses of Forbidding Gaza Citizens to Leave

He claimed that Hamas forbids citizens in Gaza from leaving at gunpoint when Israel offers humanitarian corridors and safe zones. Israeli Prime Minister said, “It is Hamas not Israel that should be held accountable for committing a double war crime – targeting civilians while hiding behind civilians. The forces of civilization must back Israel in defeating Hamas barbarism.”

International Focus on Gaza Crisis

Trudeau’s comments regarding the Gaza Strip crisis coincided with a growing international concern over the circumstances in that heavily populated region. More than 11,000 people have already died and more than 1.5 million have been displaced in Gaza as a result of Israel’s battle against Hamas. Global attention has been focused on the humanitarian crisis occurring there after seeing heartbreaking photos of newborns placed side by side to stay warm after incubators stopped functioning due to power outages.

Three Infants Lost in Gaza Hospital Generator Failure

At the Al Shifa hospital in Gaza, three of the 39 preterm infants passed away after the generators that kept the incubators running ran out of fuel. “I urge the government of Israel to exercise maximum restraint. The world is watching, on TV, on social media – we’re hearing the testimonies of doctors, family members, survivors, kids who have lost their parents,” Trudeau said. “The world is witnessing this killing of women, of children, of babies. This has to stop,” he added. Since the start of the war, these were his harshest criticisms of Israel. The prime minister of Canada emphasised that Hamas must release the approximately 200 Israeli hostages it is holding and cease exploiting Palestinians as human shields.
