“It’s a good thing”: Biden on Trump refusing to attend his inauguration

President Donald Trump has finally admitted his defeat and decided to concede. However, he has still not acknowledged Joe Biden as the president-elect who will soon take over the White House duty. Keeping his dissent in order, the US president on Friday said that he will not attend Biden’s inauguration, refusing to follow contemporary outgoing President’s duties in order to maintain the peaceful transition of power.

Well, it was expected of Trump to come up with such statements, but seems like it is going to affect no one as President-elect has sided with him. Biden, reacting to Trump’s statement said “it is one of the few things we have agreed on.”

Calling the President an embarrassment to the nation and unworthy to office, Biden added that him not showing up at the ceremony is a good thing.

“He exceeded even my worst notions about him,” Biden said. “He’s one of the most incompetent presidents in the history of the United States of America.”

Trump will be the first incumbent President since Andrew Johnson to not attend his successor’s inauguration. The president had also denied to have a traditional congratulatory telephonic conversation with Biden after latter had defeated the former in November election.

“To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th,” Trump had tweeted.

Meanwhile, Biden has welcomed vice-president Mike Pence at his inauguration which is scheduled to take place on January 20.
